OCEAN IMPORT ACCESSORIAL FEE HANDLING

August will be the 11th straight month the USA has been grappling with peak season ocean market conditions induced by the COVID-19 pandemic and corresponding V-shaped recovery.   The Los Angeles port complex is expected to again set volume records in July and August. With the arrival of cargoes previously trapped in South China due to the Yantian partial port closure coupled with the traditional seasonal shipments for back-to-school, Halloween, fall fashion and early holiday season shipments, it is anticipated the current supply chain challenges the market is facing will increase in the coming months and continue well into 2022.

Historically Noatum Logistics has been able to honor customer preferences for consolidated invoicing for FCL import services provided. Effective immediately, Noatum Logistics will no longer be able to provide consolidated invoices for ocean import FCL services. Given the current supply chain delays, port, rail, and container yard congestion as well as truck capacity challenges, all pass-through accessorial charges related to items such as additional chassis rental days, container detention, container demurrage, truck waiting time etc., will be issued as additional billings following final delivery.

We appreciate your understanding regarding this necessary change as we work to navigate these extraordinary market conditions.
