MIQ Logistics is providing you with an amendment to our earlier Supply Chain Alert.
Since 12:00 (noon) c.t. today, several ocean carriers are sending customer advisory notices regarding a Transpacific Westbound (TPWB) port congestion surcharge, which comes on the heels of the last update which was related to the Transpacific Eastbound (TPEB) port congestion surcharge.
The two port congestion surcharges going into effect November 17, 2014 can be found in the below two tables:
(TPEB): U.S. inbound cargo via West Coast ports:
(TPWB): U.S. outbound cargo via West Coast ports:
The carriers have explained that there are various factors which are attributed to the deteriorating port congestion situation along the U.S. West Coast, i.e; “equipment availability issues”, “labor related disruptions”, etc.
MIQ Logistics will continue to monitor this situation closely and will track updates on our Ocean Freight Forwarding Market Update page, as they become available.
